BELLES PETITE: ‘Because of You’ Charity Exhibition

Claire A’Belles is a Birmingham-based artist who currently makes and sells contemporary art work in several galleries and cafes in London, Brighton and Birmingham.

For the last few months, she has been tirelessly planning an art event at Zellig in the Custard Factory in Birmingham, scheduled for Saturday 17th March.

It will be a showcasing of her own latest pieces of Belles Petite works, in collaboration with the Macmillan Cancer Trust.

Claire recently organised a Christmas fair and charity event in the memory of her mother with Macmillan, which was a great success and she managed to raise over £700 through a raffle as well as kind donations. She now hopes that this latest venture will bring even more success for such a worthy cause

Entitled “Because of You” the work for this event is inspired by the strength and courage of her dearest mother Margaret Rose, who recently sadly lost her sixth-month battle with cancer.

“I feel in my saddest time that I would like to do something to raise money for Macmillan for their support, and to thank my mother and others for just being them”, says Claire

“I am striving towards raising much needed money for the charity, by holding a raffle of kind donated gifts, as well as donating two of my limited edition art prints from Belles Petite. I will also donate a percentage of Belles Petite artwork sold during and after the event,” she adds.

“I am planning to have a band and DJ, with drinks flowing, as well as an auction of my work and other kind donated gifts. So far I have been overwhelmed by the support of my local community in Moseley who have kindly donated numerous, wonderful gifts for raffle prizes, such as several meal and drink vouchers for beautiful restaurants in and out of town.”

Alongside the event at Zellig, Custard Factory, Claire will also be running an online auction selling work from other artists – more on this to follow.
